The Art Program of Camdenton R-III Schools supports the district mission by promoting the belief that all students can learn and want to succeed.
The Camdenton R-III Schools Art Program offers a unique learning experience for students in that they are encouraged to imagine, create, and reflect, and are developing both the verbal and non-verbal abilities necessary to progress. At the same time, the intellectual demands that the arts place on students help them develop problem solving abilities and such powerful thinking skills as analyzing, synthesizing, and evaluating. The Art Program also engages students in a process that allows them to develop their self-esteem, self-discipline, cooperation, and self-motivation necessary for life.
An education in the arts promotes student learning to identify, appreciate, and participate in the traditional art forms of their own communities, as well as understand the relationship of art of other cultures, both past and present to our own. Art students' work is displayed throughout each building, at local businesses, in various contests, and at the Camdenton Education Foundation dinner.
