this is when you're looking for it if you're a freshman coming here as a little messy I'm still working on it then you'll know where you're at so this is what the room looks I'll see you out in the hallway do I have a second or that's the Ceramics room there's a cardboard easel outside Monet here and if you look down the hallway is the direction of the library so that's where I am located I also have the Ceramics room which is in there and it is quite messy but I am soaring things don't change things organized so clean now let's look at these art supplies and that will help you when we getting divorced together now the first thing here is just regular pencils so everybody hasn't number 2 pencil which is HP that's a great pencil for just general drawing there's also a drawing pencil here it's also an HP it doesn't have an eraser there's a graphite a darker this is a 6B and then there's an H which is a harder line and it's a lot softer so that's good for sketching and then here's a mechanical pencils and then another sketching pencil now if you go or to go to Walmart or Joann or Hobby Lobby or somewhere like that you'll be able to buy an actual drawing kit that has several of the pencils in it it will have your eraser I'll have the blending stump and I'm about to show you so it's possible to substitute some of these things or to get a kid. as most of them in it but it would be great if you had an HB pencil and H pencil and a 60 or just a variety so depending on where you go if you order on Amazon you can also find a drawing kit I think there about 6 Tyler still have the erasers and all those things that are the blending stumps that you use to blend a graphite rather than using the your fingers because you have oil in your finger and it gets your paper welcome stop so we like to have an AB Lennie centers all different sizes here you can get any size you want though all work just fine I would like for you to have a white vinyl eraser the pink ones are okay but they don't lift the grass fight as well and sometimes kind of rip the paper so you can get one let looks like that that would be great would also be helpful if you had a handheld pencil sharpener so we don't have to share pencil sharpeners I do have a couple Electric that will be fine but getting up and moving around the room it may be an issue so if you have your own pencil sharpener that will help for you not to have to get up now if you're in studio art you'll see that there is some charcoal on the list pencils and you can get charcoal different kinds anywhere it's on the list but this is not something that art one has to worry about unless you really want to bring them you can but we're probably not going to use them in that class the next thing on the list is Sharpies or pens I think I have pins on the list for art 1 and 2 so just blue or black pens will use those for Mark making sketching that's where thing it would be great if we had a Sharpie now this one is the ultra fine point and this one is the fine point so this is the typical Sharpie that most people have in this is the this fine point one that is a lot more like a pencil the colored pencils are all kind of colored pencils that you can get the best ones are probably the prismacolor or the Blick you can get those on the Blick website but you can also just get the Crayola ones at Walmart I will tell you that the ones that are crazy art or rose art what the brand is now they don't have as much pigment so you may not want to get those I would say go for Crayola or better you can get them in the box you can get a set of 12 you can get a minute at 10 or you can order it online but it would be great if you had your own set because we can't share our supplies this year another thing on the list is watercolor so you just need that little set that has the different pans in it and most of the paintbrush so that that's fine you just get this that with the one brush but it would be extra wonderful if you had a different that they had a variety of sizes to go with that it would be all so wonderful if you could bring in a used little small plastic container this one's sour cream yogurt and they don't really have to have a live this is just to hold your water because I don't know that I have enough for every student I have been saving them but if I don't have their own that would be great scissors and glue everyone knows what those look like you can get a glue stick if you want you can get a couple glue sticks a rulers it doesn't matter if it's wooden or metal and then a ziplock bag to keep all your supplies in because they will go and those Cubbies over there so your stuff can't be too big and tall now you can get a Ziploc bag you can get some sort of a supply box you can get little pouch be a lot easier if you have a way to put them all together that way things aren't falling out of the Cubbies sometimes people reaching the cubby and the take things that aren't there so if they're in the bag it will be a lot harder for them to get those out now the thing that's going to be different this year is if we have to go home for a while we are probably going to have to come up with a variety of art supplies kept at home that you can use if we're on a shutdown so normally keep all of our supplies here if your student is responsible or kids if you can handle this to bring it back and forth to class everyday that would work out fine but if you can I need to come up with a plan to get some little bit of supplies at home and then some here at school in case we get no notice and we are closed down but I'm still thinking on that and I will talk to kids when I come in like I said you don't have to have all these things when you first get here but I do know that we're going to start with our drawing stuff at the beginning so if you could get your blending stump your pencils your eraser handheld pencil sharpener 10 time for later I think that's all I need to tell you for now I will course go over this with the kids when they get here and hopefully we are here for a while and we'll get through using always thinks thank you
