everybody I Mr Buxton antiques General chemistry AP Chemistry 1 maybe chemistry 2 I've worked in the district for 13 years I listen to heavy metal and I'm a die-hard chief Super Bowl champs baby get down to business real quick that is if I refer AP chem to you guys had me in a pecan one so a lot of stuff you already know about my girlfriend anyway okay however you want to do your notes is fine with me if you want to do stuff in a binder you want to do it loose leaf paper you want to do it at Federal notebook and whatever works for you works for me calculator use the same calculator as you used last year or girl do some notation logarithms antilogs I think textbook as last year hard copy I got some of those online you can download a copy of the book as a PDF never worked last year just use the same type of thing this year if you when was hard copy last year and this year you want to go with online form of the book know whatever you're the one who's got to carry around me because this is U2 this will be faster and in more depth than AP chem what if you can one was like background information now we're really going to start to apply that information okay we will do a little bit of review Stephen on the way we're going to do chapter 8 chapter 10 molecular structures and look up horses beginning in equilibrium at the base when to use aqueous equilibria Advanced thermal you know stuff like that so lot of new material is going to come in very quick have a lot of material in-depth so what you know is course is quite a bit more difficult then it became more time I try to scare you I'm just trying to be honest with you so you know what you're feeling for every talk about that stuff before homework pretty much every night you have more questions than you had an AP 1 questions will probably take longer to do this is because there's just so much more depth of knowledge with those question though did this is going to be call David have your work now if you want me to have a day pick him up navigate to Bill. use the same book that AP Computer uses you can have that as a hard copy I've got copies of that or you can download online for people like to have it online we'd like to have a book actually 55 I'm you know whatever some people like to have a hard copy in the phone already downloaded form on your phone of it and another people like to have a hard copy I don't care whatever you want to do it if you want to book will take a look up okay this course is Augustine AP Chemistry course it's going to be a lot of material in depth you will have homework pretty much every night with this you need a good work ethic you know you'd really be focusing on doing the work everyday because in here if you fall behind you are really going to have a hard time getting caught up because again it's a pick you up so it's going to be difficult that's pretty much it for if you can come you guys already had me General chemistry so you know what I expected big hike vacation by the time you finish AP chem one you should be able to walk into any chemistry course in college volume to complete whatever and you will really well admit one thing we need to talk about with AP Chemistry because the AP chem program here is a two-year course you cannot the in AP Chemistry is there is no AP Chemistry exam in May until you take a peek into if we try to test an AP chem one you would only know about 40% of material and Ava today exam will not go well for you on that so if you're looking to take the AP chem exam to try to get some college credit just now not do that until you complete AP chem is B2 and it's up when you're always get questions on so I went to bring it up to you now cuz that may influence you know what are you begin this year or you know keep it or whatever you want to do just trying to be honest with you as much as I can if I can have you up adults doing is borrowing loose leaf paper you want me to binder whatever you want to do for that is fine with me as long as you bring a material with you everyday calculator just like with the AP chem 1 AP chem to people you need a scientific calculator some the old lady singing notation logs and antilogs the logarithms and logarithmic good news is there is no book if there's anything that you need I have a book I will make a photocopy of that and I will give you a paper copy of that discourse is kind of like a pre AP chem course it will move quickly and he will cover a lot of material you're not at home working here that you have depends upon you tell me the time you'll have enough time being the hour to get work done or to get most of work done sometimes and this won't be any time left at the end of the day and the hour for you to work from home work that day but most of the time you should have enough time to get the assignment done in class you got to take very much if any the home with you there is no books we talked about that already or type of calculator or by the depth of it you need to have a strong background and algebra to do well in here because you got to do a lot of solving for I'm not trying to run you off I'm just trying to tell you that you know ahead of time kind of what you're getting into and we'll talk more about stuff on day one always if you have questions about stuff just shoot me an e-mail I'll get to you if you leave the same day or I'll get to you the next day I get to that pretty quick as far as grades go when there's a peek into a became one General chemistry I will get grades in typically the day that I received the assignment of you returning this item if an assignment is due on Tuesday typically Tuesday before I go home to scores a book test Maytag an extra day or two kind of thing up on all that stuff work cuz I'll need desert how long to get to be greeted by and you know stuff like that so it might take a couple days to get tested IQ really well we great so that you know all the time where you at regardless of what I say before make sure you come in work hard everyday do the best that you can with it and I think that you'll do really well with the course with chemistry y'all build upon itself so it's important that you stay caught up on everything so you don't get you don't get Vine and then have a hard time and I'll catch him back up but I want everybody to do really well in courses like I said I'm not trying to run anybody out of here I'm just want you to know ahead of time kind of court that you got what's expected of you how much homework you're going to have to kind of get some basic information from that we'll talk more on the first day and that's all I got for you okay
